•Create, all aspects of programming that airs on Horry County Schools' educational access channel (HCS-TV12).
•Create written and graphical materials and presentations for the school district and its Media Services Department.
•Produce live teleconferences that air via educational access, district-wide, state-wide, or nationally, as warranted.
•Create presentations and demonstrations for conferences and meetings
Broadcast & Communication Example: Problem: Playcard Environmental Center, run by Horry County Schools, was not booking the number of field-trips to make it solvent.
Challenge: Use HCS-TV12and other multimedia to brand the center as thepremiere field-trip option for students
Solution: Co-created “Forever Wild,” a television show and its companion web site based out of Playcard and dedicated to environmental education
Results: Within 2 years, Playcard had enough visitors to teach state science standards to over 5000 students per year
•Design and and teach Video Editing, Video Production, Imagery of Advertising, and interactive media Production Class course for the Coastal Carolina University Communications Department
•Research, design and create instructional materials for district staff development and training for Horry County Schools
•Deliver staff development to school district staff on a variety of topics via an array of method
•Assist others within Horry County Schools with the technological aspects of multi-media for staff development and other uses
•Individually train Horry County Schools’ teachers and staff communications technologies and methodologies
Instructional Design Example
Problem: Horry County Schools’ in-school studios were underutilized by faculty and students
Challenge: Create an environment where faculty and students in the schools could use the studio facilities to their potential value
Solution: Used regular staff developments and individual trainings, as well as interactive web groups to facilitate idea sharing between the district Media Services Department and the school studios
Results: 24 school studios are currently used daily for morning shows, 9 are used for broadcast journalism classes
